While many filmmakers and studios are turning to digital cinema, there are still strong supporters of 35mm film. So much so that a group of studios has formed a pact with Kodak that will allow Kodak to keep producing film for motion pictures. Kodak is now the only company left that makes film for motion pictures. The pact guarantees that studios will purchase a minimum amount of film each year.
The Digital Cinema Distribution Coalition continues to grow. At the end of 2014 it represented over 21,000 screens in 1,800 sites across the US. The DCDC provides digital delivery to theaters using both a satellite and terrestrial network.
